PURE HONEY RUM CAKE

  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 cups pure honey
  • 4 eggs
  • 3 cups flour
  • 2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/2 cup cream
  • 1/2 cup rum, light or dark
Cream shortening and honey. Add eggs, one at a time and beat well. Sift together flour, baking powder, and salt. Add alternately with cream and flavoring to honey mixture. Bake in greased 10" x 13" pan at 325° F for 1 hour.
