1 cup butter, 1/2 cup shortening, 2 1/2 cups pure honey, 8 eggs, 3 1/2 cups whole wheat flour, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1/4 tsp. soda, 1/2 tsp. salt, 1 cup canned milk undiluted, 2 tsp. vanilla extract, 2 tsp. lemon extract. Cream butter and shortening. Add pure honey and cream again. Add eggs one at a time. Add flour, baking powder, soda and salt. Blend with milk, add vanilla and lemon extracts. Beat well. Pour batter into greased loaf pans to a level of 3/4 full. Bake at 300° F for 40 min. Continue baking at 225° F for another 40 min. |
