Captain John R. Samson, owner operator of Pépé's Pure Honey as a child was fasinated with bees and that fasination never went away. He went to sea at the age of 15 and spent most of his working career on the water. During that time, in his spare moments he read all the books, references and literature that he could possibly find on bees and bee products. "How to Raise Bees"; Raising Bees From Scratch", "Making Splits"; "Making Nucs"; "Raising Your Own Bees"; "How Bees Winter"; "The Best Places to Keep Bees", are just a few of the many, many titles he studied.

He started small, and when he retired from sea life, he started expanding his bee and honey production, a little more every year. It is still expanding and growing to date. He has customers far and near, from all over the globe and he owes this to the "word of mouth" that his customers pass on about the goodness of Pépé's Pure Honey. Many dedicated customers buy one case of honey every year, because generally speaking the average family will use about one container (1 kg.) per month or a case per year. That's just a rule of thumb, but over the past decade or so, that has been our observations.
